Dear Editor:
With the recent disasters in Haiti and Chile, we should thank the Lord that we live in Lincoln County and the USA. Throughout their attempts to recover from their earthquakes and tsunamis, these countries had to rely on aid and support from the USA and other UN nations throughout the world due to corruption of their governmental officials.
While our county, state, and nation has not endured these natural diasters, we have experience multiple snow storms this season. During each of our snow storms,we were assured that our city county, federal government employees worked together to ensure its residents safety. In keeping with their motto, our postal workers continues to deliver our mail in all types of weather. Although some of us might have been inconvenienced with power outages from our winter snow storms, our three public utilities serving our county worked diligently to prevent, to rectify, and to restore power. |

Letters to the Editor : Reader Disagrees with Zoning Decision

Dear Editor,
Two hundred and ninety four, yes 294, substantiated cases of child abuse in Lincoln County were documented between July 1st and December 31st 2008. I am of the opinion that the only thing worse than child abuse, is ignoring the needs of children that have been abused. I believe this very act occurred on March 17 at a City Zoning hearing when city officials denied a re-zoning application from the Lincoln County Coalition Against Child Abuse (LCCACA) concerning two properties on North Grove Street. |
