Fire / Police : Bomb Threat at North Lincoln High School Investigated
Posted by admin on 2008/6/5 14:19:42 (626 reads)

LINCOLNTON – Lincoln County Sheriff’s officers investigated a bomb threat at North Lincoln High School on Wednesday. Deputies were notified after a message was found written on a stall in a restroom that indicated an attempt would be made to “blow up” the school today.

Sheriff’s deputies and the Gaston and Lincoln County bomb-sniffing dogs were called in Wednesday night to search the building and grounds but did not detect any potential materials that would indicate an explosive device.

North Lincoln High School sent a recorded phone message out to parents last night informing them about the incident and precautions being taken by law enforcement.

School opened on a normal schedule today without incident. Extra security, including dogs trained to detect explosives, was at the school during the opening this morning.
