Friday the 13th receives a classic 1930’s attraction for those who enjoy being in suspense and being entertained
LINCOLNTON – Arguably one of the finest murder mysteries ever written, Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None is being brought to life by New York-trained director Dr. Elizabeth Peterson-Vita, and technical director, Jim Vita, in their return to Lincoln Theatre Guild to collaborate with the innovative flair true to Agatha Christie’s suspenseful intent. A talented cast will take you to an island off the coast of Devon, England in the 1930’s to keep you on the edge of your seat as the plot twists and turns keep you guessing until the very end.
The four performance dates are Friday June 13th at 7:30 p.m., two performances on Saturday, June 14th at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and a matinee only on Sunday, June 15th at 2:00 p.m. at the Lincoln Cultural Center. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and senior citizens. Tickets will be available at the door unless an event is sold out, so purchasing in advance is encouraged.
In addition, the audience will get to see The Missing Lincs, the Lincoln Theatre Guild’s exclusive Improv Troupe perform as the opening act for each performance. With doors opening to the public at 7 p.m. for evening performances and 1 p.m. for matinee performances, those interested in seeing the Missing Lincs in action will want to arrive for their performances at 7:30 p.m. for evening performances and 1:30 p.m. for matinee performances.
According to Director Peterson-Vita, it is fitting that the performance debuts on Friday, the 13th. “There is always an anticipation and suspense that comes with the date, Friday the 13th,” states Peterson-Vita, “and the production we are preparing for And Then There Were None will most certainly fit the bill. We have been faithful to Christie’s original stage presentation and intent. Part of Christie’s formula is always to go beyond the obvious, and in this play she plumbs the realm of group psychology to examine guilt and to ask the difficult question of what constitutes justice in a seemingly unjust world.”

Fortenberry as Thomas Rogers; Annie Bailey as Mrs. Ethel Rogers; Sylvester Stroud as Fred Narracott; Jessica DeWitt as Vera Claythorne; Russell Conner as Philip Lombard; Tré Vaughn as Anthony Marston; Kenneth Davis as Mr. Davis and William Blore; Lawrence Welch as General John McKenzie; Penny Bost Schrum as Emily Brent; M. Brewster Strope as Sir Lawrence Wargrave; and Simon Knowles as Dr. Edward Armstrong.

Dr. Elizabeth Peterson-Vita, a seasoned professional who moved to the Carolinas from New York in 2000, will direct Alice in Wonderland. Her directorial credits include Radiance of a Thousand Suns: The Hiroshima Project, Slaughterhouse-Five, Miller’s Court, A Broadway Christmas Carol, Jack: The Musical, and Nijinsky’s Last Dance. As an actor, she has been seen on-stage in productions with BareBones Theatre Group, Matthews Playhouse, Hickory Theatre-on-a-Stick, Epic Arts Repertory, Theatre Charlotte, Rock Hill Community Theatre, and Class 5 Poets.
