Lincolnton Middle School placed on Lockdown For Three Hours
LINCOLNTON – Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives investigated an incident where someone claimed a student brought a gun onto the Lincolnton Middle School Campus.
Lincolnton Middle School officials called the Communications Center around 11:36 a.m. to say they had received a report that there was a gun on campus but they had not seen the gun. The school was placed on lockdown while deputies and detectives searched the building.
Detectives conducted a number of interviews and don’t believe there was ever a firearm on the school grounds. Students were released from school at the normal time this afternoon without incident. Officers made another search of the building after the students left for the day and nothing was found.
