Lincolnton, NC – An East Lincoln High School teacher has been arrested on one count of taking indecent liberties with a student by school personnel according to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.

Jeremiah Howard Wood, 28, of 906 Ponderosa Trail, Cameron, NC is accused of having inappropriate contact with a 15-year-old female student while on the campus of East Lincoln High School.

Wood turned himself in at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate.

He was released on a $9,500 secured bond and had a first appearance in court today.

Investigating officers are School Resource Officer Robert Milton, and detectives Don Mauldin and Lester White.

Investigation is continuing.
