STANLEY, NC - The East Lincoln Fire Department held their annual Christmas party and celebration on Sunday evening at the recently opened new station on South Pilot Knob.
Firefighter Jacob "Jake" Sprinkle was named this year's "Firefighter of the Year" for the department.
Board Chairman Marc Walker and the ELFD Board of Directors recognized five members of the fire department and were presented plaques commemorating their dedication to the department and the residents of East Lincoln county.
They were recognized as "Honorary Lifetime Members" of the department.

Fire Chief Tim Tench presented Johnny Pope, David Tench, James Henkle Jr., Roddi Long and Shelton Duckworth with plaques on behalf of the fire department.
Following the meal, children in attendance were greeted by Santa Claus and were able to share with him what they wanted for Christmas.
The East Lincoln Fire Department began serving the citizens of eastern Lincoln County in 1956 and was originally an all volunteer organization.
