STAFF REPORTS

LINCOLN/GASTON COUNTY
- The rain did not keep families away from the Partnership for Children of Lincoln & Gaston Counties Family Spooktacular on Saturday, October 31, 2009. The WoodMill Festival Grounds in Vale had an overflow of roughly 1000 people who came to enjoy the day’s festivities, which included trunk or treat, Go fish, a cupcake walk, a costume parade, face painting, a silent auction and an ambulance, fire truck and smokehouse for children to learn about. Costumes ranged from a family dressed from characters from the Wizard of Oz to Scooby Doo, pumpkins, and pirates.

The fundraiser was geared toward families with young children and helped raise awareness of the Partnership for Children’s funded projects.

“The Family Spooktacular exceeded our expectations and we are thrilled with the amount of support that we received,” said Steve Eaton, Executive Director of the Partnership for Children of Lincoln & Gaston Counties. “We are glad families were able to come out for the day and enjoy the activities we had to offer. We are excited to make this an annual event.”
