LINCOLNTON - On Friday, November 5th, the Lincoln County Health Department released the following Regional Flu Report.
CMC-Lincoln had slightly less visits to the ER from patients with flu-like symptoms during Week 43- (October 25-31)…6.9% compared to 7.3% the week before. Overall, Lincoln County has the third lowest percentage of ILI ER visits of the 12 reporting counties in Region 7. The state average (9.8%) and the region’s average (9.6%) were also a decrease from the week before (11.7% and 10.7% respectively).
The 12 counties included in Region 7 are: Alexander, Anson, Cabarrus, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly and Union. The proportion of ILI visits in the region ranged from 3.6% to 13.1%. During Week 43, the counties reporting proportionate ILI visits higher than the State were: Alexander (13.1%), Rowan (12.3%), Catawba (12.1%), Gaston (10.5%) and Cleveland (10.2%).
Deaths due to H1N1 influenza as of 10/31/2009 Statewide in NC were 45 which included 13 confirmed H1N1 flu deaths and 32 influenza (either seasonal or pandemic deaths).
