Lincolnton - The Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce held their annual meeting and banquet at the James G. Warren Citizens Center on Thursday evening, November 5, 2009.
Members packed the house for an evening filled with good food, great entertainment and a wonderful atmosphere.
Chamber Chairman Ken Morris introduced Pete Acker, Board Chair for the Lincoln Economic Development Association who presented the Industry of the Year Award.
Among other things, this award is made to the industry that is involved in the community and produces positive performances. Lincoln County is fortunate to have two such companies meeting the award criteria.
Mr. Acker presented the award to Hoff Textiles and G. E. Security.

Karen Cook, President of the Business & Professional Women’s Organization made the presentation of the Woman of the Year Award to Teresa Watson.
Jody Rhyne, President of the Rotary Club of Lincolnton presented the Man of the Year Award to Dr. Robert “Jim” Watson.
Terrie Blake received the Small Business Person of the Year Award; Rebecca Powell was named the Volunteer of the Year; Lillian Marr, Ambassador of the Year and Melisa Harrison received recognition for the 2009 Newest Member.
Ken Morris recognized the outgoing Board of Directors, presented the Chair of the Board Membership awards and passed the gavel to Bill McLucas, 2010 Board Chair. John Dancoff, immediate past president, installed the new directors and officers.
Guest speaker for the evening was Thomas Dismukes, a motivational storyteller, humorists and adventurer.
