Arts : Paul C Rhyne County-Wide Art Competition Winners Announced

LINCOLNTON - The Arts Council of Lincoln County is please to announce the winners of the 2009 Paul C Rhyne County-Wide Art Competition.

Gary Freeman of Cherryville received first place with “Ancient Oak”, a drawing with mixed media.

Ginny Boyd of Denver was awarded second place for her mixed media creation, “Outer Banks Morning”.

Third place was awarded to Lynn Dermott of Denver with “Same Time Next Year”, also a mixed media creation.



Amelia Navarro of Lincolnton received first honorable mention for her oil painting titled “Pathways”.

Laraine Middleton of Denver received second honorable mention for her clay jar titled “Poppy Jar”.

The show features a mixture of contemporary and traditional art representing a variety of techniques, created by local Lincoln County artist.

Work will be displayed in the Carolina Mills and Cochrane Galleries of the Lincoln Culture Center from October 1 0 until November 15, 2009.

The Lincoln Culture Center is located at 403 E. Main Street, Lincolnton and is open to the public, Tuesday – Friday 10am-5pm. For further information please contact the arts Council of Lincoln County at (704) 732-9044.
